A sentence has been handed down to the man responsible for an impaired driving crash that claimed the life of a Beeton man.
Tyler Neilsen was sentenced to 5-years following the 2017 collision in East Gwillimbury that killed 28-year-old Stuart Ellis.
Neilsen was also given an 8-year driving ban on top of the sentence issued inside a Newmarket court today.
He previously pleaded guilty to driving impaired along with charges of taking a vehicle without consent and driving on a disqualified licence.
Ellis was driving south on Highway 28 near Davis Drive in the early morning hours when the northbound car being driven by Neilsen crossed the centre line and struck him head on.
Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene leaving behind a wife, who was pregnant with their second child, along with their 14-month old.
