Drug Arrests in Saugeen Shores

Port Elgin | by Ken Hashizume

Police say they seized meth and fentanyl as well as a crossbow and expandable baton.

The arrest of a wanted man leads to several drug and weapons charges.

An officer with the Saugeen Shores Police Service recognized the man in question on Goderich Street in Port Elgin Tuesday night (19th) allegedly committing drug activity.

He was arrested a short time later and charged with failing to appear in court.

Police say that led to a further investigation by the Criminal Investigations and Drugs Unit.

They say they conducted a pair of traffic stops where drugs (fentanyl, crystal meth) and weapons (a cross bow, expandable baton) were seized.

Five men and 2 women were arrested, a man and a woman were unconditionally released, the rest were released with future court dates.
