The 2019 Wasaga Beach budget is almost a done deal.
Council will consider approving the spending document at next Tuesday night's meeting.
Last night, Committee of the Whole held a public meeting on the latest draft of the budget.
For 2019, the proposed tax rate increase is 2.91 percent.
For an average assessed home, that is $51.92 more a year.
The total operating and capital spending is 64 million dollars. That's an increase of nine million dollars over the 2018 budget.
Capital spending includes 3.2 million dollars for the Main Street Bridge rehabilitation project, other public works projects, and one million dollars for the design of the new library.
The draft budget proposes 23.6 million dollars will come from taxation and 16.6 million from general reserves. 8.3 million dollars will come from rates and fees for services.
Other sources are grants and loans (debentures).
