Court Documents Say Kaden Young's Mother Had Drugs in her System

Michelle Hanson allegedy had drugs and alcohol in her system the night her son died.

The mother of a little boy who was killed after he was swept away in the Grand River last year, allegedy had drugs and alcohol in her system the night her son died.

According to court documents, a toxicology screen revealed Michelle Hanson tested positive for cocaine, Percocet, OxyContin, and alcohol the night Kaden Young died.

On February 21st, 2018 Hanson allegedly drove around a road closed sign just before 1am on the 10th Line of Amaranth Township.

Flood waters then swept her van into the river and in their escape, she lost her grip on her 3-year old son.

Police charged her with impaired driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death, and dangerous driving causing death this past October.

The allegations haven't been proven in court and Hanson is set to appear before a judge next month.
