Hanover’s Playtime Casino is now open.
Gateway Casino and Entertainment held a soft opening Monday evening.
No shortage of excitement or interest in Hanover’s new casino, within the first few hours of operation over 350 people came through the doors.
General Manager Derek Tierney is very pleased with the public’s response.
The new Playtime Casino boasts a mini Las Vegas feel with 286 slot machines, 8 live table games as well as two restaurants: the MATCH Eatery and Public House (open to families) and The Buffet.
This new casino says Tierney is truly an entertainment destination
In order to accommodate so much growth, the casino has doubled its staff to 200.
The soft opening says Tierney is the casino’s way of ironing out any kinks in the system as they prepare for the official grand opening slated for April 11th.
It took seven months to complete the 18 million dollar casino renovation and expansion project, the only thing left to do is construct the 96 seat patio that will overlook the Racetrack, this will be complete by May.
The new casino boasts an expanded footprint of 32,672 square feet with an additional 3,283 square foot mezzanine.
Unlike the original ‘slots in a box’ style casino, the new Playtime Casino is focused on a variety of forms of entertainment.
Excitement was so high about the soft opening of the casino that people began arriving as early as 2 pm, even though the doors didn’t open until 5 pm.
