Wasaga Beach residents have the chance tonight (Tuesday 7 P.M.) to voice their opinion about the draft 2019 budget at the Committee of the Whole meeting.
The meeting will start with a presentation of the proposed budget followed by public input.
Staff have made a few adjustments, as directed, to the last draft and the tax increase has gone up slightly from 2.87 to 2.9 percent.
On an averaged assessed home of $339,990, the proposed increase would be $156.95 more.
That is for the municipal portion of taxes only. The town portion amounts to $51.92 and the rest is because of an increase in property assessment.
When you factor in the county and education taxes, homeowners would actually pay $247.90 more.
The 2019 budget is expected to go to full council for approval on March 26.
