Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance Temporarily Closes St. Marys Laboratory

Huron-Perth | by Fadi Didi

HPHA officials say staff retirements, recruitment challenges reason for temporary lab shutdown.

The Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance has temporarily closed one of their four laboratories.

HPHA officials say laboratory services at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Site have ended, effective Monday.

This is due to laboratory staff retirements and ongoing recruitment challenges, according to the HPHA.

No word on a re-opening time for the laboratory in St. Marys.

Meantime, the Laboratory Departments at HPHA's Clinton Public Hospital, Seaforth Community Hospital and Stratford General Hospital remain open for community patients.

Alternate laboratories for community patient specimen collection include: LifeLabs locations in Stratford and Listowel, and Dynacare Laboratories and Health Services Centre in Stratford, Seaforth and Goderich.
