The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks have come to the end of their WOAA Senior hockey season.
The Hawks lost to the Clinton Radars, 3-1 at the Plex, and lost the Best of 7 semi-final series, 4 games to 2.
Coach Matt Turcotte says despite the outcome, he was proud of the team in the series and throughout the whole season.
Turcotte says the Radars, defending champs in the league, were a powerhouse all season but the Hawks kept up with them in the series.
The one goal for Saugeen Shores Saturday night came from Justin Ainslie and it was a shorthanded marker at that, which tied the game at one but the Radars scored 60-seconds later and added an empty netter near the end of the game for the 3-1 score.
All the scoring took place in the 3rd period.
Turcotte says he looks forward to returning next season to see what they can do and he hopes it will be a better result.
The Clinton Radars will now go on to meet the Ripley Wolves, in the "AA" championship series.
The Wolves defeated the Durham Thundercats on Saturday night, 7-3, to win their best of 7 set, 4 games to 2.
According to a tweet from the team, it will be Ripley's first trip to the Senior AA Final in "modern team history."
