Attack Rebound to Beat Rangers

Groulx scored twice as Owen Sound split their season-ending home-and-home with Kitchener.

The Owen Sound Attack end the OHL regular season on a winning note.

The Attack rebounded a day after an embarrassing loss to the Rangers.

Daylon Groulx scored twice in a 4-2 victory over the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday night.

The win allows the Attack to split the home-and-home where they lost the first game in Kitchener 9-3 on Friday night.

Joseph Gareffa gave the Rangers a 1-0 first period lead before Barrett Kirwin answered on the power play for the Attack to tie the game at 1-1.

Owen Sound would keep it up in the second period with goals from Groulx and Sergey Popov for a 3-1 lead.

Mack Guzda made 23 saves for the Attack (31-31-4-2) including a couple in the final minute to help preserve the win.

Maksim Shusko collected 2 assists for the Attack.

Greg Meireles also scored for the Rangers (34-30-3-1) while Owen Sound native Lucas Pfeil stopped 32 shots in the loss.

Owen Sound went 2-for-9 on the power play, Kitchener were 0-for-4.

The Attack open the first round of the playoffs against the Greyhounds this Thursday night in Sault Ste. Marie.
