Vehicle Found Running In Snowbank Driver Charged With Impaired

Grey County OPP say the vehicle was lodged in the snow at the end of a dead-end road.

Grey County OPP have charged a man with impaired driving after a his vehicle ended up in a snowbank in Flesherton.

Police say it happened just after 7 last Saturday evening (March 9th) on Milligan Drive.  

They say upon arrival, police saw a lone man in the driver's seat of the vehicle which was lodged in a snowbank on the dead end road.

Grey Highlands Fire and Grey County EMS were at the scene to assist. OPP say there were no injuries reported.

According to OPP, the vehicle was still running and officers say a strong smell of alcohol was coming from the vehicle.

Officers noted the driver seemed to be intoxicated and a bottle with some alcohol in it was seized from the front passenger floor of the vehicle.

Police arrested the 50 year old Barrie man who they say refused a breath test, despite being warned of the consequences of his refusal.

He was charged with impaired driving and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
The G2 driver was also charged for being a novice driver with a blood alcohol content above zero and for having care and control of a motor vehicle with an unsealed container of liquor.
