Warmer Than Normal Spring On The Way

Regional | by Fadi Didi

Senior Climatologist says March may have started cold, but warmer temperatures are coming.

A Senior Climatologist with Environment Canada says it won't be long before you can pack away your winter jacket.

Although he does not expect weather for tee shirts and shorts in April, Phillips says the forecast is calling for warmer than normal temperatures this Spring.

Phillips says Ontario will have a slower transition into Spring this year, but warmer temperatures are expected for the final weeks of March.

As to when you can enter the water without freezing, it could be a while.

Phillips says temperatures in Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are colder in June than they are in November.

He expects farming season will be in full swing when April rolls around.
