Update: 10:50 A.M.

An early morning apartment fire in downtown Kincardine affected multiple businesses and saw first responders close Queen Street in Kincardine from Harbour Street to Lampton Street indefinitely.

South Bruce OPP Community Safety and Media Officer Danielle Morrison says the Fire Marshall and Forensic Identification Service Unit will be on scene today.

“There’s been no report of injuries,” says Morrison who was able to say the Emergency Services were notified of the fire just before 3 a.m.

The Kincardine Fire Department received help from Tiverton, Ripley and Saugeen Shores fire departments.

Firefighters from the Southampton Station provided an Aerial Ladder Truck. Saugeen Shores Fire Prevention Officer Rob Atkinson says Saugeen Shores firefighters returned after 8 a.m., and that he believes the fire was contained to the single unit.

Witness reports say the fire affected Becker's Shoes and West Shore stores.

Kincardine Fire officials say multiple fire departments are at a fire on Queen Sreet in Kincardine involving business and apartments.

They say Queen Sreet is closed between Harbour and Lambton.
