Vehicle Collides with Horse and Buggy

Three people were hurt, one with life-threatening injuries; 2nd such incident in region in three days.


OPP are investigating another crash involving a motor vehicle and a horse-drawn buggy.

Members of the Huron County detachment were called to an area on Howick-Turnberry Road near Belmore Line in Howick Township on Saturday.

Howick Turnberry Fire Department and Huron County Paramedic Services were also at the scene.

One person was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two others were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The roads was closed as OPP Traffic Technical Collision Investigators try to determine the cause of the crash.

This is the second crash involving a horse-drawn buggy and a motor vehicle in our region in the last 48 hours.

A school bus collided with a horse and buggy on Concession 10 Sideroad 5 in Arran-Elderslie on Thursday afternoon.

All five in the buggy were hurt, two of them suffered life-threatening injuries.
