Grey Bruce Celebrates Women Of Distinction

International Women's Day event recognizes entrepreneurs & advocates for change.

An event to recognize great women in Grey Bruce is set to go in Port Elgin tonight.

'Women Unite: Collective Impact for Global Change" is the theme of the evening which will feature the Women of Distinction awards.

Business to Bruce and the Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey are teaming up for the event.

County Planning and Development Officer Tori Matichuk says the event will "Explore how female entrepreneurs, our businesses, and the private sector can work together to create meaningful progress on social issues."

Keynote Speaker Andy Sharma is an international recognized social researcher and human rights advocate based out of Manitoba.

Both men and women are encouraged to attend from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Lakeshore Recreation Centre on Goderich Street in Port Elgin.
Tickets are $45 and include appetizers and dessert.

Proceeds from the tickets will go to support programs of the Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey.
