Town to Hold Labour Shortage Discussion

Saugeen Shores | by Bayshore News Staff

March 8th marks the final day to RSVP for the event.

Business owners in Saugeen Shores are invited to share their experience with labour shortage at a discussion at the Bruce County Museum March 20th, at 8 a.m.

Mayor Luke Charbonneau says the discussion is about hearing what people have to say and officials quantifying what the labour need is from those discussions.

“We need to know and put some definition around it so we can tailor a solution to actually address the demand.... and be advocates.”

Mayor Charbonneau says the Town is looking to address the problem “proactively” by bringing people together to get a “firm handle beyond anecdote, on what really the issue is.”

He cited specific problems affecting Saugeen Shores includes: affordable housing, a demographic crunch and a rural community that is growing quickly.

The deadline to RSVP for the event is March 8. Interested parties are asked to contact -Jessica.Linthorne@saugeenshores.ca or 519-832-2008 x123.
