Two Face Drug Charges After Port Elgin Arrest

Police say they responded to a call about a man who was seen passed out in a vehicle.

Saugeen Shores police have arrested two people on drug charges.

On Thursday,February 28th, police received a complaint from a concerned citizen about a
man passed out in a vehicle in Port Elgin.

Officers arrived on scene to check on the man's well being.

They say an officer saw evidence of drug possession in the vehicle.  

The man and a woman, who was also associated to the vehicle, were arrested.

Police say a search of the vehicle revealed a substance believed to be purple fentanyl.

According to police, also found in the vehicle was crystal meth and a prohibited knife.

A 35 year old Mount Forest women has been charged with:
1.Possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine
2. Possession of a controlled substance opioid
3. Possession of a prohibited weapon
4. Fail to comply with a recognizance drug prohibition
5. Fail to comply with a recognizance weapon prohibition

A 58 year old Walkerton man has been charged with:
1.Possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine
2. Possession of a controlled substance opioid
3. Possession of a prohibited weapon

Both were released with a court date.
