A number of women will gather to raise money and honour one of the greatest men from Owen Sound.
The biggest fundraiser for the Billy Bishop Home: Museum, Archive, and Historical Society is around the corner.
The Fire and Ice gala is taking place once again at the Best Western Inn on the Bay Friday April 5th from 6 PM to 11 PM.
It will feature a live and silent auction, amazing door prizes, and food served by members of the Owen Sound Professional Firefighters Association.
Country 93 Morning Show Host Rick Ringer will be the Master of Ceremonies.
Event organizer and Marketing Consultant with J9 Communications Janine Fawcett says it is such a fun night that the women who attend the event will remember it.
She says once they learn the date has been set for the following year, they contact us to get their tickets.
One of the main draws at the event is a Live Purse Auction where one lucky attendee will leave with an "Ice" diamond from DC Taylor Jewellers.
Fawcett says one of the purses was donated by Cheryl Hickey of ET Canada (and CFOS alumni).
She says they were fortunate to get a gently used purse from her for the auction.
Fawcett says more than $20,000 was raised last year and are expected to exceed that amount for this year.
Money raised will go towards upgrades to exhibits, providing quality community and education programs, and continuing to present Veterans programs to honour those who served and continue to serve Canada.
Tickets are $80 each or, if you get a table of eight, it is $70 per person, and they can be book by contacting Diane Sprung at (519) 371-0031 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
