The Saugeen Shores Gran Fondo Lake Huron is growing.
Bruce Power spokesperson Christine John says the company is proud to be this year's presenting sponsor.
John says they have presented a $40,000 cheque to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) to help purchase equipment for the Southampton Hospital.
She says Bruce Power is a great supporter of events that brings the community together and things that support health and wellness within the community.
The Gran Fondo fits into that category.
John says she will be riding in the event in August, tackling the 110K route.
In the meantime, she's recruiting fellow Bruce Power workers to take part and she hopes to have a team of 40 riding the four routes of 30, 70, 110 and 160K.
SMHF Executive Director Tracy Murray says they have about double the number of registrations they had last year at this time, with 245 riders committed to the August event.
Earlier, Acuren Nuclear returned as a Silver Sponsor and made a $2,500 donation and the Saugeen Shores Hub made a $5,000 in-kind donation to become a Gold Sponsor.
Bayshore Broadcasting is the major media sponsor of the family-friendly cycling event.
