Another Impaired Driving Arrest in Saugeen Shores

The 26 year-old driver failed a road side breath test and did not have a drivers license,

Saugeen Shores Police have arrested a third person in one week due to Impaired Driving.

On February 20th, 2019 Police say at around 3:50 a.m., an officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner on the side streets in Port Elgin. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Hilker Street and Green Street. The officer spoke to the male driver from Bruce County and detected the smell of  an alcoholic beverage. Police conducted a road side breath test, which police say resulted in a failure.

The 26 year old driver was arrested for Operation of a vehicle while impaired over 80mgs. The driver was transported to the police station for further breath tests. While at the station he completed two tests, also resulting in a fail.

 An investigation revealed that the male has never been licensed and was prohibited from driving for failing to pay fines and remedial violations.

 The 26 year old Bruce County man has been charged with: 1. Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired – Over 80mgs 2. Driving While Under Suspension – Highway Traffic Act The male was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date.

Saugeen Shores Police Make Two Separate Impaired Driving Arrests
