No Fine For Animal Activist

Collingwood | by Catherine Thompson

An animal rights activist appeared in a Collingwood courtroom on Tuesday.

An animal rights activist appeared in a Collingwood courtroom on Tuesday for the final time in the so-called Mink Trial.

Malcolm Klimowicz says the Prosecutor dismissed the break and enter charge and reduced it to a trespassing charge for recording video at a Wasaga Beach area mink farm.

Klimowicz tells us he has not been fined and he will not have a criminal record.

But he has been put on probation for a year, can't have contact with the mink farm owner or go near the property, and has to remove videos filmed there from the Internet.

All in all, Klimowicz says he is pleased with the outcome.
