Officials with the United Way Perth-Huron are delighted and amazed at the pace of fundraising, during the ongoing campaign.
Executive Director Ryan Erb says the organization has raised around $1.3 million, which is over 90 per-cent of the $1.45 million goal.
He adds that fundraising is about $120 thousand ahead of last year's campaign at this point.
Erb says 13 major donors have stepped up with $6,000 each, which encourages others to become "leader donors" who give $12 hundred a year.
He also points to a number of women are becoming leader donors, and that the United Way payroll deduction program is bouncing back in a big way.
There are now more workplaces taking part in the program in both Counties, and a higher number of employees are donating through paycheque deductions.
The United Way Perth-Huron helps 47 community agencies and projects.
The current campaign wraps up at the end of March.
