Christmas Fund Broadcast Raises More Than $30K

79th annual CFOS-Sun Times broadcast supports over 20 local charities and organizations

The 79th annual CFOS-Sun Times Christmas Fund Broadcast raised more than $30,000.

The final fundraising numbers from the event are in, with $30,796 contributed to support 23 local organizations and charities.

Donations and contributions were collected until the end of January while the broadcast itself went on Dec. 2, 2018 at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound.

The first $5,000 raised through the Christmas Fund Broadcast goes towards the $4.7-million campaign by local hospital foundations for a new MRI at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital. Big Brothers Big Sisters Owen Sound and the Rainbow Program for Traumatized Children local chapter Canadian Mental Health Association each receive $2,500.

The nearly $21,000 remaining in the fund will be split among 20 other organizations and charities in the community.
