Another part of the education process in what a Family YMCA, operating a municipal recreational facility, would offer in Saugeen Shores.
Over 50 people made the trip to the Scenic City facility.
Saugeen Shores Director of Community Services Jayne Jagelewski says the outing on Sunday, February 10th achieved its goal.
Jagelewski says the whole premise was to show those that took the trip, what a Family YMCA has to offer and offer they did.
It was Saugeen Shores Day at the Y and from 11:30am to 5pm, residents were able to experience the health, fitness and aquatic centre at the Owen Sound Y, free of charge.
Jagelewski says the feedback she's received indicates everyone had a good time.
The idea was part of a plan to give people an idea of what a similar Y might offer in a Saugeen Shores recreational facility, if it was run by the organization.
A new recreation facility with a pool and other amenities could cost over an estimated $20-million-dollars in Saugeen Shores.
The vision is that the YMCA could operate the new facility on behalf of the town and the facility would replace the 43 year old Centennial Pool, and accommodate the recreational needs of the growing population of Saugeen Shores.
