Nearly 400 People Tour U.S. Coast Guard Ship In Goderich

Goderich | by Fadi Didi

Lieutenant Commander says hundreds visited vessel docked during poor weather.

Hundreds toured a U-S Coast Guard vessel stranded in Canada's Prettiest Town.

The Hollyhock was docked in Goderich Thursday and Friday of last week, due to strong winds and storm conditions that battered the Lake Huron shoreline.

The ships's Lieutenant Command, Nick Monacelli, tells Country 104.9 News public tours were conducted by crew during business hours, while the ship was docked.

Monacelli says he lost count of patrons after 350, and expects the number of people who toured the 225-foot vessel is likely closer to 400.

The Hollyhock departed the Port of Goderich Saturday, when favourable weather conditions returned.
