Five Charged After Search Warrant at Saugeen First Nation

Possession charges for numerous controlled substances such as fentanyl, oxy and meth

Five people face drug-related charges after police executed a search warrant at Saugeen First Nation.

Provincial Police say the OPP Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit with the assistance of Huron Perth Community Street Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team and Bruce Peninsula OPP carried out the warrant at about 7 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

OPP say all five people brought into custody were arrested without incident and will appear in Walkerton court on Feb. 27.

The accused face drug possession related charges for substances such as fentanyl, oxycodone, methamphetamine, synthetic cannabis (nabilone) and magic mushrooms (psilocybin).

A 44-year-old Forest man, 48-year-old Saugeen First Nation man, 49-year-old Saugeen First Nation man, 25-year-old Saugeen First Nation woman and 35-year-old Saugeen First Nation man all face charges.

No further details have been released.
