Blyth's Cowbell Brewery Receives Accessibility Accolodates

Blyth | by Fadi Didi

Rick Hansen Foundation recognizes brewer as first in Canada with "certified gold" accessibility.

Cowbell Brewing Co. in Blyth is picking up accolades for accessibility.

The Rick Hansen Foundation has awarded the brewer with its "Accessibility Certified Gold" rating.

Cowbell becomes the first brewery in Canada to achieve the status, and adds to the beer maker's accolades since opening in 2017.

The brewery is also the first one in Canada to use solar, geo-thermal and steam recovery in their brewing process, and to recover and recycle water.

In October, Cowbell announced their purchase of an adjacent property, which housed the former Emergency Services Training Centre.

The building is expected to be converted to include a packaging hall, with additional parking for the brewery.

Cowbell expects to occupy the building this year, with work being completed by late 2020.
