Shelburne Resident Charged in Shooting Incident on Manitoulin Island

A 17 year old and others from the GTA and Peel charged in shooting incident in First Nations Community.

A 17 year old from Shelburne has been charged along with five others after a shooing incident in a First Nation Community on Manitoulin Island.

Saturday around 5 pm, officers from the M'Chigeeng First Nation, Manitoulin OPP, and Greater Sudbury Police responded to a shooting.

Two young men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Five youth and one adult have been charged, including a 17 year old male from Shelburne, who along with another Brampton teen have been charged with attempt to commit murder with a firearm, assault with a weapon, and possession of stolen property.

The others charged are residents of Ajax, Toronto, and North York.

No names have been released.
