Another successful Wiarton Willie Festival wrapped up this weekend.
Willie made the prediction in front of over 200 people outside the Wiarton Arena Saturday morning.
Canada's most famous prognosticator was joined on stage by a number of dignitaries including Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Bruce-Grey-Owen MP Larry Miller, and Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker.
South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Janice Jackson says given the recent winter storm in the area, people felt relieved to hear Willie call for an early spring.
She says Willie is never wrong and she is getting better at understand him.
The 63rd edition of the Wiarton Willie Festival wrapped up on Sunday.
There were people coming in from New York, Texas, and Germany to see and experience the festival first-hand.
Jackson says the festival puts Wiarton on the map and is one the more fun things she gets to do as Mayor.
She says everyone knows Wiarton Willie and it makes the town very proud.
