Rangers Sweep Home-and-Home from Attack

Kitchener scores :33 into the game, Hugg records hat trick.


The Owen Sound Attack could not muster much in the back end of their home-and-home with the Kitchener Rangers.

The Rangers defeated the Attack 6-1 on Friday night to sweep both games of their back-to-back matchups.

Kitchener got on the board 33 seconds into the opening period on a goal by Riley Damiani (1 goal, 3 assists).

Isaac Langdon and Rickard Hugg also scored first period goals to give the Rangers (23-22-3-0) a 3-0 lead.

Hugg would finish the game with a hat trick while Joseph Garreffa had the other Kitchener goal .

Adam McMaster broke Luke Richardson's (34 saves) shutout bid scoring with 1:53 left in the third period.

Andrew MacLean stopped 25 shots for the Attack (23-22-2-2).

Power plays saw Kitchener go 1-for-3, Owen Sound were 1-for-4.

The Attack return home to host the Windsor Spitfires on Saturday night at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.

Game time is 7:30.
