The local hospital is going ahead with sprucing up all of its patient rooms.
The Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Foundation has announced it has reached its one million dollar goal needed to renovate all 58 inpatient rooms.
The hospital says renovations are necessary now since a new hospital facility is still 8 to 10 years away and over 50 thousand patients will be taken care of in the exiting hospital until there is a new one.
The renovations include repairs and a new paint job in each room along with new entertainment and communication units at each beside.
Each patient bathroom will get ultra violet lights with motion sensors that will bathe the room in micro-organism killing UV light when the room is occupied.
The rooms will be equipped with other bacteria killing measures and equipment as well.
The hospital foundation still needs to raise two hundred thousand dollars for the renovation project.
