Tentative Deal At Casino Rama

Rama | by Ian MacLennan

1,400 Unifor members were ready to strike at midnight, talks extended into the early morning.

A strike at Casino Rama appears to have been averted.

1,400 Unifor members were in a position to walk at midnight but negotiations between the union and the casino operator (Gateway Entertainment and Casinos) carried into the wee hours of today(THUR), and a tentative deal was reached around three this morning.

Local 1090 confirmed details on its Facebook page.

The union represents dealers, slot workers,  food/beverage staff, cashiers and others.

A ratification vote for the workers will be held Saturday.
