Study Finds More People Visited Bruce County

Bruce County | by Ken Hashizume

The report also suggests 2.5 Million visitors contributed $299 Million to the local economy.

A lot of people came up to Bruce County to visit and spend money.

That's according to a recent study on the economic impact of tourism in the county.

The County released the findings of their first Economic Impact of Tourism report that showed over 2,545,254 people visited Bruce County in 2018.

The same report suggests that same number of people contributed $299 Million to the local economy.

The Economic Impact of Tourism report leverages data from a number of sources including Ontario Parks and Parks Canada, surveys from businesses and at various events, and information from a third party panel.

The County received Rural Economic Development funding from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs to develop a standardized and consistent method that would address any gaps in available data.
