South Bruce Peninsula council is counting on the first full day of Summer this year, June 22nd, to be a good one for a special event.
That's the day of the Grand Opening of the Sauble Beach Town Square, completing a vision begun in 2015.
Mayor Janice Jackson says people will see a really good park space with some performance facilities and some enhanced washrooms, which are critical for the area.
She says tourists and residents alike should enjoy the return of concerts to the area.
The mayor says the Grand Opening has a budget of $40,000 which is part of the overall $900,000 budget for the square, between 2nd Avenue North and Lakeshore Boulevard North.
A soft opening of the square is hoped for by the May holiday weekend with the Grand Opening, a week before the traditionally busy Canada Day Weekend.
The June 22nd opening is expected to include an afternoon of family events, along with general entertainment all day.
An evening headliner musical performer is also being sought for the night time show.
