Area Students Are Making Second Movie

Collingwood | by Catherine Thompson

Local students are making a second feature film.

Local students are at it again.

First they produced the first of its kind in Canada all student made feature film last year, now the youth are working on a documentary and a second movie.

Grade 12 student at Collingwood Collegiate Institute, John Cardillo Jr., says the film production club at the Collingwood Youth Centre and other local students are in the early production stages of their new movie Failing With Flying Colours.

The youth are looking for funding, help from local businesses and donations from the public to help with costs of making this film. The goal is to raise ten thousand dollars to make an even bigger movie.

Last year's movie called Senior Year cost around three thousand dollars to make and came out of the students' pockets.

The group hopes to screen the film at the Gayety Theatre in downtown Collingwood this June along with a documentary they are making on youth homelessness.
