January is Alzheimer's Awareness Month

25,000 new cases of Alzheimer's Disease the disease are diagnosed each year in Canada

January is National Alzheimer's Awareness Month and it's also being recognized in the town of Orangeville with a proclamation from Mayor Sandy Brown.

25,000 new cases of the disease are diagnosed each year in Canada and 564,000 people are currently living with dementia in Canada.

The Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County provides programs, education and support for more than 400 individuals and families in the area.

This year, their awareness campaign theme is “Every person with dementia has a story to tell”.
