South Bruce Peninsula | by Ken Hashizume

The Mayor says Wiarton Willie festival will be bigger, new projects will be completed, and they still have their eye on NII.

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has a lot to look forward to in 2019.

That according to Mayor Janice Jackson who says the Town is coming off 2018 where it saw a lot of growth.

Jackson says the Town will continue to pursue having the Ontario Nuclear Innovation Institute located in Wiarton.

She says she respects the decision by Bruce Power to find their preferred location in Saugeen Shores but is keeping the door open in case that changes.

Jackson says 2019 will see the opening of the new beach park in Howdenvale and the new town square in Sauble Beach.

She says the Town will also be conducting a recreational master plan.

Jackson says they are looking at putting up a big-top tent at Bluewater Park for this year's Wiarton Willie festival.

She says they have been working hard to raise the profile of the festival and have attracted additional sponsorships.
