Former Goderich Mayor Moves On, After Election Loss

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

Kevin Morrison says focus will turn to downtown business, tourism in small Mexican town.

The former Mayor of Goderich says the next phase of his life will be an enjoyable challenge.

Kevin Morrison finished third in his bid for re-election on October 22nd, behind current Mayor John Grace and former Councillor David Yates.

From here, Morrison and his partner intend to concentrate on the operation of their restaurant on The Square.

He says they will also be working on trade and tourism in a community in Mexico.

Morrison is generous toward his detractors on social media, saying there are haters who lash out from behind their computer keyboards simply because they can.

Before the campaign started he said that he would serve only one more term, and then retire from politics.

Morrison added that if he was defeated, he would not run in any future election.

He says his four years as Mayor were a great experience, and helped pave the way for a new phase in his life.
