Huron-Kinloss Man Charged After Allegedly Dragging Hydro Pole

Huron-Kinloss | by Claire McCormack

South Bruce OPP allege a driver was doing stunts and later hit a hydro pole.

South Bruce OPP have arrested a Huron-Kinloss man for dangerous driving.

Police say just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday December 15th, OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Lake Range Drive in Huron-Kinloss where an officer reportedly saw a pickup truck doing a stunt in the Point Clark Community Centre parking lot.

Meanwhile, South Bruce OPP responded to a collision on Lake Range Drive shortly after that involving the same pickup truck.

They say it had knocked down a hydro pole and then continued to travel on Lake Range Drive dragging the pole along the roadway, before coming to a stop at Lake Range Drive just North of Concession 4.

Police say the driver of the truck left the scene of the collision.

He was found and arrested the following day.

The 24 year old Huron-Kinloss Township man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain and also failing to report an accident.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Walkerton on January 30th.
