Bala Falls Noise Bylaw Trial Could Surface In Spring 2019

Bala | by Matt Sitler

The court system moves at its own pace...

It could be April, May or June 2019 before we see a trial get underway in the Bala Falls Noise Bylaw Infractions Case.

Swift River Energy Ltd, its President and CRT Construction face charges after the Township say these parties broke the Township noise bylaw at the controversial Bala Falls location where a new power plant's going in – something Swift River officials deny.

Muskoka Lakes Township Bylaw Officer Jon Popple says that although the first court date to hear the charges is set for January 9th in Bracebridge, the court system has a way of taking its time.... (above audio)

A total of 13 charges were laid – five for Swift River, three for Swift River President Frank Belerique and five for CRT Construction, which carry with them a set of fines, that combined, could be as high as $65,000.
