The Meaford Hospital has a new paediatric crash cart thanks to a donation from the local Lions Club.
The Meaford Hospital Foundation received $2,100 to purchase the cart for the hospital.
The crash cart allows for doctors, nurses, and staff access to important emergency equipment such as a defibrillator.
The cart will be needed when ears, nose, and throat (ENT) patients are being transferred to the operating room area of the hospital as of January 2019.
Grey Bruce Health Services President and CEO Lance Thurston says the crash cart is a wonderful compliment to the hospital in Meaford.
He says it will provide with a level of specific care that they didn't have before.
Thurston says this was a project that the Lions Club could get behind in.
He says since it was for children, it fit the mandate of the Lions Club.
Thurston says the crash cart was something the hospital was looking for but was pushed back due to other priorities.
He says it something that they want other hospitals to have.
