Owen Sound Hospital Rehab Unit Re-Opens

Owen Sound | by Matt Hermiz

Health officials confirm there are no new cases of CPE

The rehabilitation unit at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital has re-opened.

Grey Bruce Health Services advises test results received yesterday confirmed there are no new cases of Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE).

Health officials say the unit had closed to new admissions last Friday as a precaution when a patient was identified as a carrier of CPE.

CPE is resistant to most types of antibiotic treatment and can spread to vulnerable patients.
