Drug, Break-In Charges Laid Following Stop In Huron East

OPP say suspect's vehicle contained drugs, car break-in instruments.

A West Perth man is in Huron OPP custody on six charges including three drug offences, following a traffic stop in Huron East.

Police say while on patrol in the early hours of Sunday, an officer spotted two cars sitting side-by-side in the middle of Tile Road.

Investigators say the officer pulled over one vehicle that tried to make an unsafe manoeuvre on the road.

OPP tell us an arrest for driving while suspended led to a search of the driver and vehicle.

Three controlled substances, suspected drug trafficking paraphernalia, cash, and a "slim jim" for forcing open locked vehicle doors were seized.

The 25 year-old accused will be in Goderich Court Wednesday on three counts of possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, possession of break-in instruments, fail to comply with recognizance and driving while suspended.
