A Program to Help Find Volunteers

Huron Perth | by Peter Jackson

The United Way's iVolunteer tool averages abotu 500 searches a month since it started in 2016.

The United Way Perth-Huron is reminding local organizations of a resource they can use to find volunteers.

iVolunteer Perth-Huron has helped a number of groups who haven't had enough people to give their time to community efforts.

Local groups in Huron and Perth Counties can turn to the United Way's iVolunteer program, when they find themselves short of people to help with community efforts.

United Way officials tell us iVolunteer Perth-Huron has grown rapidly in the past year, with an average of around 500 searches a month.

That's up substantially from the 100 searches a month, when the service launched almost two years ago.

The program is adding an affiliate level membership for non-profit organizations without paid staff, to access iVolunteer for free.

Non-profits with paid staff pay $50 a month for the service, while for-profit groups pay $100 a month.

iVolunteer's search engine also provides information for potential volunteers to match up with an organization of their choice, by visiting the United Way Perth-Huron website.
