Police Investigating Theft of Pick Up and Firearms

Bayfield | by Phil DeLand

A Dodge Dakota and two .22 calibre rifles were stolen from a home on Bluewater Veteran's Highway.

Police are looking into the theft of a pickup truck and firearms from a home in Bayfield.

Huron County OPP say they were called to a break and enter earlier this week at home on Bluewater Veteran's Highway.

They say sometime between 2:30pm and 3:00pm yesterday, the suspects took a Dodge pickup that was parked in the lane way with the key in it.

Two long guns that were stored in the house were also taken.

According to police, the black, four-door Dodge Dakota is valued at around $5-thousand.

Police say the guns are a Russian made, .22 calibre, bolt action rifle, with an attached scope with a brown wooden stock.

Meanwhile, the other firearm is an Ace model .22 calibre bolt action rifle with a brown wooden stock.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Huron OPP or Crime Stoppers.
