The search for a new President and CEO for the Hanover and District Hospital is over.
The Hospital’s current Vice President will be taking over the reins this February following the retirement of the current President.
Vice President of Patent Care Services Dana Howes will become HDH’s next President and CEO.
Howes says she is up to the challenge ahead, thanks to her mentor current President Katrina Wilson.
Over the last four years, Howes has served as Wilson’s second in command and says she has learnt a lot during that time.
Howes brings with her a wealth of knowledge in both health care and senior management.
Howes is an RN with Bachelor and Masters of Science in Nursing and before her appointment as Hospital Vice President she served as Chief Nursing Officer for HDH.
Howes says her vision is to continue the Hospital’s great legacy of being a rural centre of healthcare excellence.
Howes will have a chance to get her feet wet gradually over the next month and a half as she shadows Wilson (current President) until her retirement at the end of January.
Howes will take over the reins as HDH President and CEO on February 1st.
HDH Chair Lorna Eadie Hocking says the hospital is fortunate to have someone of Howe’s caliber and experience to step up to lead the Hospital.
