Goderich's New Deputy Mayor Says Housing Key To Town's Future

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

Myles Murdock says he supports housing, economic development visions with new Mayor.

Goderich's new Deputy Mayor says he's humbled by the confidence shown in him by municipal voters.

Myles Murdock this week officially took the seat he won in the October municipal election, as Council was sworn in.

He says he has achieved a level of representation in municipal politics he didn't think he would achieve in his career.

Murdock tells Country 104.9 News that he supports Mayor John Grace's vision for Goderich's future, based largely on economic development and more new housing.

He believes residential development is key to driving Goderich's economic future, and that land available in the Dechert Road area will help achieve that goal.

Murdock says Goderich voters called for change in the election, and he's confident that the new Council will help deliver a new vision for the town.

Goderich Council's first working meeting of the new four-year term is Monday at 4:30pm.
