Ministry Probes Dog Death

Dundalk | by Matt Hermiz

MNRF trying to find person responsible for setting illegal trap that killed dog last month

The death of a dog in Dundalk is being looked into by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF).

On Nov. 15, conservation officers were notified a dog had been killed in a trap on a private property.

The MNRF says officers determined the dog had died after being caught in a body-gripping trap during an off-leash walk at the property on the north edge of Dundalk.

Officers determined the trap had been set illegally.

Anyone who can help identify the person or persons responsible for setting the trap is asked to call the MNRF tip line at 1-877-847-7667 or Crime Stoppers.
