Goderich High School Students Look To Break Food Drive Record

Goderich | by Fadi Didi

GDCI students will pick up food donations from porches, stoops Thursday during annual food drive.

The Goderich District Collegiate Institute annual food drive is looking to break their previous weight record for donations collected.

Students from GDCI will be collecting non-perishable food donations across Canada's Prettiest Town on Thursday.

Organizer Rebecca Duncan says non-perishable food items can be left on stoops and porches for students to gather.

Duncan says collections will be made between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m..

In 2017, GDCI students collected 312 pounds of food.

Duncan is hoping to break the 400 pound mark in the 2018 food drive.

Donations will be split between the St. Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army food banks, in Goderich.
