For most people, today is Friday, November 30th and perhaps the start of a weekend.
For the Executive Director of the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, Sally Kidson, it's all those things but it's also the start of her retirement, after 4-years at the helm of the foundation.
Kidson says she feels privileged to have served as Executive Director of the Foundation because it means she has worked with a giving community and some incredible people to keep the Southampton Hospital moving forward.
She says she hopes that trend continues in the future under new Executive Director Tracy Murray.
Kidson points out that in order to have the modern equipment that we have at the local hospital and the regional hospital in Owen Sound, the community needs to step up and continue to make donations when they can.
She says in the future, the health care needs in the community are going to be greater than they are right now.
As far as Kidson personally, she says travel and spending time with her family are in her future, along with dabbling in foundation events to help out as a volunteer.
It won't be long before she becomes that volunteer.
She is looking forward to being part of the upcoming 98 the Beach Radiothon on Thursday, December 13th where for 12-hours, the community will be asked to contribute what they can to the annual Light the Way campaign.
The Radiothon will broadcast from 6am to 6pm.
