Seaforth | by Fadi Didi

Red Scarf campaign will help raise awarness and battle stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS.

The Red Scarf campaign will be raising awareness in downtown Seaforth about the treatment, testing and prevention of HIV/AIDS.

Public Health Nurse Kate Underwood says officials from the Huron County Health Unit will be placing red scarves around the town's downtown as part of a conversation about HIV/AIDS services and supports in Huron County.

The scarves are also meant to raise awareness around the stigma associated with being infected with HIV/AIDS.

While there is no cure for HIV, Underwood says most patients can live a normal life with the proper treatment.

The last week of November, including World AIDS Day on December 1st.
